Question
Each student will be required to select a specific nutritional topic, consideration, or nutritional condition. The student must create a 1 page flyer or brochure that includes a short summary of information._ This flyer or brochure is like one of those info brochures you might find in a doctors office or health fair, elaborating about a specific topic with key points and pictures, and most importantly references for further info. This flyer/brochure should outline the main points of the issues surrounding your topic, plus also be created to draw attention from the reader, so make it colorful, insert pictures, and make it attractive. You could define the topic, explain how it is pertinent to our lives, and explain what your topic is supposed to do or how the nutrient or nutrition related info functions. Any topic related to nutrition will be considered, let me know your thoughts.Explanation / Answer
Nutrition is of two types namely autotrophic and heterotrophic modes of nutrition.
Heterotrophic mode of nutrition: It can be categorised into 3 modes 1.Holozoic mode 2.parasitic mode 3. Saprophytic mode.
Holozoic mode: It is a mode of nutrition in which an organism takes in whole food. The food ingested undergoes digestion, absorption, and assimilation.
Ex: small organisms like amoeba and large organisms like human beings.
Parasitic mode: It is a mode of nutrition in which an organism derives its nourishment from host organisms either in liquid form or nutrient form.
Ex: taenia solium is the tapeworm living in human intestine.
Saprophytic mode: It is a mode of nutrition in which an organism derives its nourishment from dead and decaying matter.
Ex: fungi that acquire nutrients from dead and decaying matter by absorption.
Among all these types of nutrition I want to let you know about the parasitic mode and how to eradicate and prevent it.
