2. The cell cycle is controlled by the action the action of cyclins, the retinoblastoma protein, and the transcription factor E2F. E2F binds along with the pRB to facilitate its binding to the DNA, leading to trasncription of the protein under the influence of cyclin dependent kinases. Once the cell cycle is complete, CDK4s comes into action to inhibit cell growth and cause senescence.
