Suppose you are running late in the morning and drying your hair in the kitchen with the hairdryer plugged into the outlet with the toaster and the coffee pot. The hair dryer is 1200 W, the toaster is 700 W, and the coffee pot is 800 W. As you are drying your hair, you start the coffee and also put some bread into the toaster and push it down. Suddenly the hair dryer, the toaster, and the coffee pot all stop because you turned on the toaster. Why? (Hint – None of the appliances are the problem. They are all working perfectly just as they were intended.)

Maximum continuous load you can safely run on a 15 amp circuit is around 1,400 watts.if you start hair dryer (1200w), toaster (700w), coffe pot (800w) then it becomes 2700w it goes to more than 1400w. then it breaks the circuit.
