Mentoring is the employee training system with a guidance odf senior or more experienced mentor(person) assigned for juniors as an advisor,counseller, and trainee..Mentorship is a relatioship in more experienced one with more knowlwdge providing and guiding less knowledge and experienced person..Being as a mentor they can be old or young..
In health care professions being as a leader mentoring in development of organization..Leader and mentor are playing important role for decision making,creativity,knowledge,communication is main aspect for successful health care leadership and mentoring..Being as a mentor they have to be as real role model for health care profession..
As a health care manager they must know the employees development..They need support and development to address their performance..from mentoring program it help them to develop their talent and confidence for promoting the organization..Being as a mentor they must promote knowledge in future generations..In health care organization spreading values and mission is their work..cultural expectations can affect the organization in budget,patient care and leadership..but by mentoring,our mission can comeup..It is a truly rewarding experience,as a mentor make big decision and it is not a easy way to become a mentor without any knowledge and effort..
There are two primary reference points that is first developing program processes and second one acheiving the program processess..successful training followup programs and chechup promote the mentors and proteges..Proteges and mentor have a formal and informal relationship..formal mentoring is best for organization it support by leadership at all levels..
Formal Metoring programs and relatioship:
It created intentionally by process of organising,there will be acheivement in goal, this structure has each individual in specific job,communication and relationship and it gives individual decision making power..
It has advantages and disadvantages:
advantages:
- It provides systamatic and smooth fuctioning of an organization
- it establishes organizational acheivement..it provides equal work for department and employees..
-It provide good mentor and proteges relationship..thye concentrate more in work than interpersonal relationship..they coordinate thier work and activitis
disadvantages:
-There will be delay in command action
-Demotivation to employee because there will be lack of psychological and social needs
-It avoids relationship,creativity,talents and give priority for work only..
Informal mentoring:
sometimes even develop into a long-term friendship..there will be more satisfaction with their mentors than proteges..
Advantages:
-It has more beneficial than formal mentoring
-It has higher development function like coaching,providing challenging assignments etc..
-Mentor they involve more strategic activiteis like counseling,social interactions ,role modeling etc..
-It is a strong and valuable tool for developing an employee..
-It need relationship first then only learning and career..
Disadvantages:
-spreading rumors can mislead the employees
-There wont be any systamatic work
-there will be opposite to policies and changes of management..so it is difficult to implement the organization..
