Question
Jim works as a ticket seller at the Big Time Movie Theater, where he collects the admission charge and issues a ticket to the customer. The customer then presents the ticket to the theater manager, who is stationed at the entrance. The manager tears the ticket in half, keeps one half, and gives the other half to the customer. Jim considers pocketing some of the cash from the ticket sales. Jim thinks it would be difficult for the theater manager to keep a running count of the actual customers entering the theater as he appears to make no attempt to count or keep track of the actual number of people that enter.
Discuss whether Jim will be successful with his plan. Explain your ideas in your initial post. Then agree or disagree with at least two other posts by your classmates, and explain why.
Explanation / Answer
Jim's idea is risky and unethical as well. Because manager tears the ticket into two half, and keep one half with him, it will be easy for the managers to count the tickets. If in any occation manager counted no of attendant, he will found cash shortage, and Jim will be cought in such case. Theater manager have full controll over the theater. In case manager is unable to count ticket he can count no of heads from the theater hall.at the time of the entry.
I do not agree that Jim will be successfull in stealing some of the ticket sales price. Usually tickets are coming in a bunch, and bunch have a definite no of tickets which Jim has to sale. He is unable to steal cash in such case no matter manager count the attendant or not.
