By definition, an observable artifact is a more visible level of culture representation. This can include anything from a published list of values adopted by a company to a special assigned parking space. While reading the Cisco case, at first I did not see any distinct observable artifacts. After becoming more familiar with the definition of observable artifact, I began to think that the internal company teams, boards and councils organized by Cisco could be characterized as observable artifacts. My logic behind thinking that these internal company focuses are observable artifacts is because everyone in the company is able to see the dynamics of the teams around then through the work that they have been handling. Therefore this is a visual representation of what the company is doing, however it is an internal figure rather than external. Throughout the case study, I also read about the espoused values of the Cisco Company. An espoused value is a stated value or normality which is preferred by the company. While reading the case, it became apparent that the espoused value of Cisco is learning how to come together and work in teams. In doing so, Cisco can then provide the best service through speed, skill and flexibility.
