Health Information Management is an organised unit that handle different department in maintaining the health record of the patient.

Coding:

It is a procedure that assigns a numeric code to diagnostics and procedure. The reason for maintaining these codes is to retrieve data about specfic diseases, analyze,and provide information for billing andreview of procedures.

They are called as Medical coders or Coders

Release of Information:

Here the patient can access his health records via internet access. The data are usually released or transferred through and between the hospitals for tretment purpose

Imaging and Scanning:

The person employed here are called as Imaging Specialist.Without this the organisation will run a poor quality images that may be unreadable , unreliable which may lead to signficant risk to patients.They scan the documents. They prepare a record index it and then scan the record.

Cancer Registry:

It is the collection of the data on demographic , tumors,characteristics,treatment, management, storage and analysis. There are three types of cancer registries . Facility based,Speciality registries and central cancer registries. They are named as Cancer Registrar.

Transcription:

It is responsible for tracking and processing the dictated reportsand distributing transcribed reports.

They are named as Medical Transcriptionist

The minimum number of individual needed for each sectot is one and a maximum of 3 staffs in Coding and transcription
