AFFORDABLE CARE ACT:
The Affordable care act focalizes on achieving trinal goals such as improving quality in rendering patient care, improving the health of general population, patient satisfaction and most predominantly reducing the cost of health care expenses. This triple goal is set with the collaboration of medicaid services. ACA has established increased collaboration between hospitals and insurance companies. Several employee wellness programmes were also started. Both hospitals and insurance companies have aimed to deliver quality health care with cost coverage with their co-ordinated efforts.

PLAN OF ACTION:
CHANGE MANAGEMENT THEORIES AND TECHNIQUES:
I have adopted Lewin's change management model to incorporate Affodable care act in our hospital. It is a very popular and effective model that aids people in understanding structured organisational change. This model was designed by kurt lewin in the year 1940's and is still found to be a very efficient model till date.
Three main stages in this model:
UNFREEZE- The first step is preparation for change. The organisation has to be prepared for change. The staff and stakeholders of the hospital must be made to understand about the necessity of this change. Some people get used to live the routine and they resist change. In this stage, as a hospital administrator i will break the routine and prepare the employees for change
FREEZE- Change happens in this stage. When ACA is inplemented successfully, it is difficult for the employees to acquire, accept and incorporate it. I will use tools such as effective communication and counselling to ai employees to go with the flow.
REFREEZE- In this phase, change will be accepted and entwined by all the employess of the hospital. ACA will be a part of our routine in hospitals. I will ensure that changes are being followed by all employees and things start going back to normal routine.
LEADERSHIP STYLE:
I will incorporate " Transformational Leadership Style" wherein I will discuss with subordinates about the change needed and why, create vision and mentor the employees with inspiration and motivation.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IDEAS TO INCORPORATE CHANGE:
EVALUATE STAFFING LEVELS, PRODUCTIVITY AND HR NEEDS:
Staffing needs are evaluated using the following ways:
- Identifying the mission requirements.
-Determine the staffing needs based on skill ( beginner, internediate, senior)
-Develop a new organisational chart after ACA is incoporated.
After analyzing the staff needs, the feedback is given to them and the new requirements based on the affordable care act policy is implemented.
HEALTH CARE EMPLOYERS:
ONGOING TRAINING PROGRAMMES:
Initial training will be started for all employees after ACA is emerged into the hospital. Ongoing training and continuous education will be given regularly to improve their skill and knowledge and to keep them updated.
