Question

Help please.... I have a research proposal that is addressing the Shortage of IV drugs in healthcare settings, My research question is "What can be done to combat the shortage of IV drugs, which are a necessity in the healthcare system?" I need: to know what type research design would be used to answer my research question (exploratory research, descriptive research, or causal research) and why that particular one would be used as well as if I would use qualitative or quantitative data collection. Can anyone help me?

Explanation / Answer

For the above mentioned research statement, one can use descriptive research. Descriptives research is used to describe characteristics of a phenomenon being studied. It does not answer questions about how/when/why the characteristics occurred. Rather it addresses the "what" question.

One can use qualitative data collection because open-ended questions allow for a greater variety of responses from participants.
