SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS.: Sexually transmitted infections also known as sexually transmitted diseases or veneral diseases are diseases are passed on from one person to another person throughthrough sexual contact.-the infection can be passed on through vaginal intercourse, oral sex & anal sex.

Son sexually transmitted infections can spread through the use of unsterilized drug needles, from mother to baby during child birth, breastfeeding, & blood transfusion.

NURSING CARE FOR STI

Nursing assessment for STI

1. Physical examination

*General condition

*Awareness, nutritional status, TB,BB, temperature, pulse, respiration, BP.

2. systemic examination

Head(eyes nose ears teeth and mouth)

Neck (there are enlarged thyroid).

Chest (inspection palpation percussion auscultation)

Genitalia,

Upper and lower extremities.

3. Supplementary examination;

Laboratory tests (bloof chemistry, urea creatine blood glucose urine analysis and routine blood).

NURSING DIAGNOSIS AND NURSING INTERVENTIONS FOR STI:

Nursing diagnosis for STI;

1. Chronic pain related to a lesion in the body tissue.

2. Hyperthermia related to the infection process.

3. Anxiety related to the disease process.

Nursing interventions for STI.

Nursing diagnosis 1:

CHRONIC PAIN related to a lesion in body tissue.

Goal:

Pain disappear and comfort are met.

Expected results:

*Facial expressions are not in pain.

*Reduce pain/no pain.

Nursing intervention:

*assess history of pain and response pain.

*Access denied that can reduce pain and explain that technique reduces pains and cause pain.

*Create a comfort environment.

*Reduce unpleasant stimulus.

*Collaboration with physician in providing analgesic.

Nursing diagnosis 2:

HYPERTHERMIA related to the infection process.

Goal:

Clients will have a normal body temperature

Expected results:

*Temperature 36 to 37 degree centigrade.

*Clients do not shiver.

*Clients can rest/sleep.

Nursing interventions:

*observation of general condition of the client with vital signs every 2 hours

*Give antipyretics as recommended by doctor and monitor the effectiveness of 30 to 60 minutes later.

*Give a compress on the forehead and arms.

*Recommended that clients use a thin and loose clothes.

*Give the drink a lot.

Nursing diagnosis 3:

Goal:

Anxiety is reduced or lost.

Expected results:

*Clients feel relaxed.

*Vital sign in normal circumstances.

*Clients can receive his.

Nursing intervention:

*Assess the level of fear with apporach and establish a trust in relationship.

*Maintain a calm and safe environment and keep away dangerous objects.

*Involve client and family in the implementation and maintenance procedures.

*Teach the use of relaxation.
