An environmentalist is alarmed about caring and conserving the environment. A cornucopian consider that modernization will allow humankind to build up ways to refill a supposedly continuous supply of resources. Big corporations frequently take the cornucopian attitude.
But I have always sided with environmentalists. The environmentalist warns the threats to the ecosystem and to renewable resources, such as cropland and forests, caused due to the population growth and abusive economic activities.
In the cornucopians point of view, population growth is good, and that it will solve itself that shortage are fabulous or can be made good by technology and substitution, and generally that we can expect a wonderful future.
The cornucopian argue that problems will be solved and good things will happen if we let nature take its route. The cornucopians have created hypothesis and chosen methods which simply ignore the most severe issues that have led the environmentalists to their concerns:
* The cornucopians give slight attention to causation and they plan past economic trends mechanically.
* The cornucopians carelessly dismiss the proof that doesn't fit.
* They utilize a stationary analysis that makes no condition for feedback from one division to another.
* They understate the proposition of geometric growth.
* They stand their predictions on an unexpected faith in continuous technological progress.
The assume resources are infinite. The cornucopians consider all parts of the environment are natural resources to be exploited for the advantage of humans
