Question

A 100 MW wind project is outputting at 75% capacity. The collection system uses PMT's at each turbine, stepping the voltage up to 34.5 kV. The substation uses an 80 MW transformer whose output is at 115kV. How much more loss is there on the three-phase collection system than the transmission line? Assume 100% efficiency 33 times 47 times 24 times 57.7 times A 100 MW wind project is outputting at 75% capacity. The collection system uses PMT's at each turbine, stepping the voltage up to 34.5 kV. Explanation / Answer

The answer is 47 times. Since we are assuming 100% efficiency where the output volatge is 115kV and input is 80MW.

It is evident that at the maximum power output the power tracking point is equal to the maximum out put power( Vm=Vavg).
