Explanation / Answer

First stage of the given circuit is a voltage follower circuit. Hence Vo1 = Vdc

Second stage is a inverting amplifier with Gain = - R2/R1 and Vo2 = (- R2/R1)Vo1

Now we will analyze the circuit case wise for diffrent Gain and input voltage given in the table above.

Case 1:

R1 = 1k , R2 = 10K and Vdc = 1.2 V

Here Gain is - (10k / 1k) = -10

Vo1 = Vdc = 1.2 V and Vo2 = -10 x 1.2 = -12V

Hence stage gains are Vo1 / Vdc = 1 and Vo2/Vo1 = -12/1.2 = -10

Total Gain is Vo2/Vdc = -12/1.2 = -10

Negative sign indicates inverting nature.

Case 2:

R1 = 10k , R2 = 1K and Vdc = 5 V

Here Gain is - (1k / 10k) = - 0.1

Vo1 = Vdc = 5 V and Vo2 = - 0.1 x 5 = - 0.5V

Hence stage gains are Vo1 / Vdc = 1 and Vo2/Vo1 = - 0.5/5 = - 0.1

Total Gain is Vo2/Vdc = - 0.5/5 = - 0.1

Negative sign indicates inverting nature.

Case 3:

R1 = 10k , R2 = 10K and Vdc = 2 V

Here Gain is - (10k / 10k) = - 1

Vo1 = Vdc = 2 V and Vo2 = - 1 x 2 = - 2 V

Hence stage gains are Vo1 / Vdc = 1 and Vo2/Vo1 = - 2/2 = - 1

Total Gain is Vo2/Vdc = -2/2 = -1

Negative sign indicates inverting nature.
