There are many hazards associated with the chemical substances.
a) Sodium methoxide :
It is a strong base and highly flammable chemical substance , so it can cause redness , serious skin burns when contacted with the skin.
If ingested it can cause sore throats , burning sensation in throat and chest or even worse shock and collapse.
b) Methanol
methanol is also a flammable chemical. Its vapor and air mixtures are very explosive . It causes cough , headache , dizziness , weakness , nausea etc.
