Question
If the difference between the gibbs free energy of theproducts and the gibbs free energy of reactants A) is large and negative the reaction will favor the productsand have a fast rate. B)is large and negative the reaction will favor the reactantsand have slow rate. C)is small and postive will favor reactants and have a fastrate. If the difference between the gibbs free energy of theproducts and the gibbs free energy of reactants A) is large and negative the reaction will favor the productsand have a fast rate. B)is large and negative the reaction will favor the reactantsand have slow rate. C)is small and postive will favor reactants and have a fastrate.Explanation / Answer
The answer is A. If the difference is large and negative, it will favour the products as the reaction will be favoured, spontaeous and release energy at a faster rate. if the difference is positive, the reaction will require energy to make the reaction go. If the difference is small = slow rate since the reation would like to have the lowest G (gibbs free energy) value therefore a large difference would have a fast rate to release energy and lower the G value. I hope that helps!
