A coil of Nichrome wire is 27.0 m long. The wire has a diameter of 0.370 mm and is at 20.0 degree C. If it carries a current of 0.480 A, what is the magnitude of the electric field in the wire? Your response differs from the correct answer by more than 10%. Double check your calculations. V/m If it carries a current of 0.480 A, what is the power delivered to it? If the temperature is increased to 380 degree C and the potential difference across the wire remains constant, what is the power delivered?Explanation / Answer
R = pL/A = p(27)/(pi((0.370/2) * 10^-3)^2).
A = pi(r)^2, make r in meters.
p of nichrome at 20C = 1.1
