Question

With a Piston-Cylinder device, you have a constant pressure. So if Volume 1 is equal to 1.4kg of saturated liquid water with a temp of 200 degrees C. If we heat the cylinder until there is only a saturated vapor, how do I find the new volume? From table A-4 I get 200 degrees C Vf is 0.001157m^3/kg and Vg is 0.12721m^3/kg.

So my first volume should be Volume = m* Vf; Volume = 1.4kg * 0.001157m^3/kg; Volume = 0.0016198m^3. But how do I find the volume of the saturated vapor?

Thanks for the help it is greatly appreciated.

Explanation / Answer

From mass conservation we would have the same mass as of the liquid and you already have find out the density of the vopour so just multiply and hence get your answer...........
