Answer:-3) Magnetic field due to infinite long wire is given by-

B = (meu0/2*pi)x(I * r). (meu0) = 4*pi x 10-7 H/m

For first wire-

r1 = (0.5 + 1) cm = 1.5 cm = 0.015 m, and I1 = 4 mA. Hence magnitude of magnetic field,
B1 = (2x10-7x 0.004 /0.015) T

So B1 = 0.53 x 10-7. The direction is downward at point P.

To make B = 0 at point P, B2 must be same in magnitude and direction should be upward at point P. For this magnitude and r2 = 0.005 m, the required current is-

I2 = (0.53 x 10-7 x 2 x pi x r2)/(meu0) = 1.325 mA. But since B2 must be oppsite of B1, so I2 must be opposite in direction of what is shown in figure. So I2 = -1.325 mA.
