With the added two servings of protein mix, how does Mark’s intake compare to his protein RDA?
Based on the answers to the preceding questions, what advice would you give Mark?
Explanation / Answer
Mark body weight= 154lbs. as he need to build up muscle mass he need more protein then normal intake.
RDA COMPARISON- it is the amount of nutrient one need to meet his basic nutritional requirements.
PROTEIN RDA= WEIGHT* 0.36, which in this case is,
= 154* 0.36= 55.44Kcal. as he taking muscle building protein powder twice a day he get total Kcal is= 100*2= 200 kcal. he need only 55 kcal but he getting 200 kcal so the the extra should be utilised by his body to build up the muscle mass so it will have a positive effect for him.
AMDR COMPARISON- MARK daily calorie intake is 3000.
AMDR is- Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range is the percentage of your total calorie intake that should come from protein in each day in case of protein. its range for protein is 10-35%.
in this case he daily take up 125gm protein so total calorie from there is= 125*4= 500( as 1 gm give 4kcal). and he get 55kcal from protein powder. so total calorie he getting from protein is= 500+ 55=-555. it is 18.5% of total calorie intake that came from protein.
it is also good, so we can conclude that mark following a good diet and soon he have good muscular body.
