Question

PLEASE SHOW ALL WORK AND FORMULAS USED! THANK YOU!

A tin of antioxidants (m1 = 1.0 kg) on a frictionless inclined surface is connected?to a tin of corned beef (m2 = 2.0 kg). The pulley is massless and frictionless. An upward force of magnitude F=6.0 N acts on the corned beef tin, which has a downward acceleration of 5.5 m/s2. What are the tension in the connecting cord? 2.6N and angle b? 17.2 degress. ( i figured out this answer to this problem, however, the problem below also connects with this problem. PLEASE SHOW ALL WORK AND FORMULA! THANK YOU!

2. From the previous problem,  the downward force applied to the mass m2, F was removed. Assume the angle ? obtained is the same as the one you obtained.

a.                    Calculate the acceleration a of mass m2.

b.                   Calculate the normal force on the mass mass m1 from the slanted surface.

c.                    Calculate the tension on mass m1.

d.                   If the blocks were at rest at t = 0, calculate the velocity of mass m2 after 3 seconds

e.      Calculate how far the block was fallen after 3 seconds.

Explanation / Answer

1)

a = 7.5 m/s^2

b)

N = 9.36 N

c)

T = 34.6 N

d)

v = 22.5 m/s

e)

S = 33.75 m
