the major differences between the living and non living are that living cells can grow, reproduce, mount a suitable response and also has the ability to sense the environment. there are few other features which we can add up with respect to living- metabolism, interact, emergence, self replicate and self organise. let us try to understand through the following points how can you say a living thing to have life in it.
the interaction withing the living thing and what it does with the surroundings emerge in to higher level of organsations, a phenomenon very true in hierrarchy of organisational complexity at all the levels. therefore living organisms are the ones which are self replicating, evolving, interactive responding to the external stimuli.
