Question

Are these statements regarding Rhizobacteria true ?:

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria, known as PGPRs, are bacteria that colonize the roots of plants through the formation of nodules. They are beneficial to the plant because they fix Nitrogen, and stimulate the plant to grow.

There are many kinds of bacteria found in the root nodules of plants, but not all have the ability to stimulate the formation of nodules or promote growth. In order to find out what kinds of bacteria were found in the nodule of the Adzuki bean plant, we obtained an Adzuki bean plant grown in soil from Temescal canyon, and isolated bacteria from the nodule.

Anything incorrect about what is said above?

Explanation / Answer

Symbiosis: It is an ecological relationship between two different species organisms that live together in direct intimate contact.

Ex: Legumes

Nitrogen fixation Formula: Bacteria reduce N2 (nitrogen) to NH3 (ammonia).

Legume Species: Legumes are the plants that forms a relationship with rhizbacteria (N fixing bacteria). Ex: Beans, peanuts, etc...

Rhizobacteria:

The statements above give in the question is True.

Explanation:

It is a soil bacteria lives closely to the plant roots in the soil. It capable to form nodules and inside the nodules rhizobacteria are present.

Rhizosphere activites:

It is Biological N2 fixation bacteria and also known as a PGPRs(Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria). PGPR's are the bacteria that colonize the roots of plants through the formation of nodules. They are beneficial to the plant because they fix Nitrogen, and stimulate the plant to grow.

This bacteria increasing plant nutrient availability of P, Mn, Fe, Z, Cu and controlling deleterious microorganisms. It improves soil aggregation.

Adzuki bean plant:

The statements above give in the question is True.

Explanation:

Adzuki bean, Vigna angularis (Willd.) is an important legume crop, It is widely used as a diet due to its highest protein and low fat content. In developing countries Europe and America it is used highly. it is valued for its high protein

adzuki bean did not increase yield with inorganic N fertilization, indicating the priority of symbiotic nitrogen fixation (SNF). In this plant symbiosis (N2 fixation) is taken placed with some bacterial strains of the genera Bradyrhizobium, Rhizobium and Sinorhizobium. The native rhizobial strains are generally poor efficient in N fixation in this plant.
