(assume that the thermal expansion of the bottle can be neglected). a) If you raise the temperature of the water to 38, how far up the straw does the water level move?

Volumetri Expansion Coefficent of water , = 207*10^-6 /C

As we know

V = VT

= 500*207*10^-6*(50-12)

= 3.933 cm^3

Let h be the height attained

Therefore

h*Area = 3.933

h*pi*0.25*(0.8)^2 = 3.933

h = 7.824 cm

Height attained = 78.24 mm
