Question
You are flying a crop duster in a horizontal circle around two radio towers are broadcasting identical signals in phase with one another (see upper figure). The towers are seperated by distance d=20m, and the radio wave has wavelength = 0.5m. As you fly in the circulare path (radius R=3d), you notice that the radio signal keeps fading in and out. When you are at an angle theta, you are distances L1 and L2 from the first and second tower (see lower figure). Note: The equationg for max and min in Young's double slit experiement will NOT help. (a) What are both deltaL=L2-L1 and deltaphi , the path and phase difference (respectively) for the two signals, when you are at theta = 0? Is this constructive or destructive interference? (b) Theta = 90? Theta = 45? (c) How many signal maxima will you encounter as you fly once around the circle? (Hint: first find how many max and min you encounter as you fly from 0 to 90) please explain how to solve, if given equations for one angle I will be able to figure out rest if its done the same way.
Explanation / Answer
why does no one answer these? Please don't tell me you're unable, because if so this class is bullshit
