Question 11,12,13
Question 11,12,13 1 11. How would you measure and calculate heart rate (BPM) from the pulse recording. 12. Why is the heart rate calculated from a 15 second period more accurate then a rate calculated from one heart beat cycle? 13. What is the finger pulse transducer registering in creating a heartbeat wave pattern? (Circle the correct answer) a. an electrocardiogramm b. the amount of blood flow c. the amount of oxygen in the blood d. the pressure wave moving through the blood vessels
Explanation / Answer
11. We have a large artery below our skin at hand. We can calculate heartbeat by reading pulse. To count heart rate (BPM), we required to count the beat of pulse for 15 second. The number which we get will require to multiply by 4 to get the heart rate or beats per minute.
12. In one cardiac cycle we measure the heart rate from begining of one heartbeat to the next heart beat beginnig. This will take approximately 0.8sec. Whereas at pulse rate method we calculate 15 sec, almost double the time of one cardiac cycle. Thus it will give us more accurate reading rather than one cardiac cycle.
13. amount of blood flow.
