a) Two springs with spring constants k1 and k2 are connected in parallel. what is the effective spring constant keff? In other words, if the mass is displaced by x, find the keff for which the force equals F= -(keff)x.
b) Two springs with spring constants k1 and k2 are connected in series. what i s the effective spring constant, keff?

I just know that for the 2 effective spring constants, parallel = k1+k2 and series = (k1k2)/(k1 + k2). is that all they are asking for?
