Question
Your groceries are in a bag with paper handles. The handles will tear off if a force greater than 55.0 N is applied to them. What is the greatest mass of groceries that can be lifted safely with this bag, given that the bag is raised with an acceleration of 1.20 ?Explanation / Answer
Case A Ok so, Force (Average) is the product of mass (constant) and acceleration ( Average ). ( F = m*a ) So, if the speed is constant, the acceleration is 0 ( since acceleration average is the rate of change of speed with respect to time ) So, if the acceleration is 0 it means that u can keep any amount of mass in it BUT here we have to take into consideration the acceleration due to gravity ( 9.8 m/s*s ) ( Approximately ) => 51.0 = m * 9.8 => m = 51.0/9.8 => m = 5.204 kg ( approx ) Now, this is the result keeping in mind NEWTONS III Law that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction I think this completes my answer. If you want the other part also, then tell me coz what i infer from your question is that i have to answer only the first part
