the acceleration of the system is a m/s^2, by balancing the forces:- =>For Ma:- =>F(net) = T - Ma x gsin? =>Ma x a = T - 1.2 x 9.8 x sin35 =>T = 1.2a + 6.75 ----------------(i) =>For Mb:- =>F(net) = Mb x g - T =>Mb x a = Mb x g - T =>1.5a = 1.5 x 9.8 - T =>T = 14.70 - 1.5a ----------------(ii) =>By (i) & (ii) :- =>1.2a + 6.75 = 14.70 - 1.5a =>2.7a = 7.95 =>a = 2.94 m/s^2 The +ve sign of a is indicating that the assumption of direction of system motion was correct. (2) 2nd condition, for Ma:- =>0 = T - 1.2 x 9.8 x sin35* =>T = 6.75 N {answer for (3)} for Mb :- =>T = Mb x g =>6.75 = Mb x 9.8 =>Mb = 0.69 kg (4) By putting the value of a in (i) :- =>T = 1.2 x 2.94 + 6.75
