Question
Rank the brightness of the bulbs from brightest to dimmest. I know the answer to this question is C > A=B > D=E. However, I'm not sure why C is the brightest. I always get confused when there are three bulbs after a junction and two are in series but one is parallel.
Explanation / Answer
This is because A branch current will divide into two paths but since in D and E bulb path, it offers higher resistance since both are on series hence current will flow more through C since it prefers low resistance path so its brightness will be higher
