Question
The voltage and current graphs for a resistor are shown in the figure below. The current scale is shown on the righthand vertical axis. The maximum voltage through the resistor is 40 V.
(a) (One Submission) According to the figure, the current and voltage for the resistor are:
out of phase.
in phase.
(b) (One Submission) The direction of current flow through the resistor at t = 0.025 s is:
the same as the direction at 0.035 s.
opposite to the direction at 0.035 s.
(c) (One Submission) The current is changing directions at
t = : 0.035 s
0.01 s
0.02 s
0.04 s
(d) What is the value of the resistance R? ?
(e) What is the frequency of the power supply for this circuit? Hz
I know how to do parts a, d and e. Could someone please explain how I would determine b and c?
Explanation / Answer
Please ask if you have any doubt.I will help you.
b) opposite to the direction at 0.035 s.
Because at 0.025s i is -ve and at 0.035s i is +ve.
c) 0.01
because the value of current just before 0.01 s is + ve and
value of current after 0.01 s is -ve.
