Explanation / Answer

applicable indicate what specific state of mitosis do the below occur?

According to Mitosis occuring during the division of cell, cell undergoes various phase of division. This includes Interphase and M phase. Interphase is considered as the preparatory phase while M phase comprises of prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.

1 During telophase of mitosis the mother cells divide in two different daughter cell having the same homologous pair of chromosome.

2. The reduction division of cell occurs in meiosis cell division which creates the two haploid daughter cell after division in telophase II.

3. The statement is correct for the mitotic kind of cell division which is completed after one cell division.

4. Crossing over or recombination of homologous chromosomes takes place during meiotic division which results in formation of tetrads. The process of crossing over specifically occurs in pachytene stage of prophase I, where the non sister chromatid of homologous chromosome exchanges their segment.

5. Diploid cells are composed of the 23 pair of the chromosomes (46 chromosomes), the meiosis division cause the haploid formation i.e. the 23 pair of chromosome divide by reduction division(meiosis) forming the haploid gametes. Only some special cell line called germ cell line undergoes meiosis and produce haploid gametes.

6. Incorrect statement because during the mitosis not allows for cell growth and cell replacement, only increase size of cell for division. During mitosis only chromosomes are allows duplicating and separating into daughter cells.

7. It’s an correct statement because the duplication in case of chromosome is refered to as replication process where the chromosome gets doubled it number.

8. It’s incorrect statement because the tetrad formation i.ee the formation of bivalent (tetrad) takes place in meiosis in prophase I.

9. Except the germ line cell formation, all other cells present in body undergoes mitosis producing diploid cells. Therefore the cheek cell is also formed by the mitosis.
