Explanation / Answer

Exercise is an energy intensive phenomenon in which the cell's ATP stores begin to reduce. Hence the cells, esp muscle cells, require more oxygen to burn glucose and generate ATP for the cell. More oxygen is associated with more transport for which large amount of blood must be pumped. Pumping of blood from heart to the rest of the body occurs when the ventricles contract (ventricular systole) which is displayed as QRS on the ECG. Hence for pumping large amount of blood, ventricular systole should be stronger and so the ORS of higher amplitude. Also for more blood, the ventricles should contract strongly and completely and hence larger duration of QRS.
