Question

1)A solid disk (r=0.20 m, M=0.50 kg) is suspended fro the end of an L=0.30m long rod (m=0.30 kg, cross-sectional area of 2.0 cm^2). This pendulum is suspended on a frictionless pivot on the rod at the end opposite to the disk.  WHAT IS THE PENDULUM'S PERIOD FOR SMALL ANGLE OSCILLATIONS?

2)A Transverse wave travels along a stretched string at a speed of 1.25 m/s. The string's linear density is 2.75 g/cm.  At the string's x=10.0 cm position the vertical dsiplacement of the strings varies with time acording to:

y(t)=0.25 cos (3.56-7.54t)  (where y is in meters and t is in seconds)

WHAT IS THE WAVE'S VERTICAL DISPLACEMENT (in m) at x =81 cm and t =3.5 s?
