Some physics students used this method to determine the spring constant of the SLINKY. Unfortunately they left the spring in the lab overnight and the lab assistant cut it into 3 equal lenght parts. The next day the students measured the spring constant of the cut spring. Would the result be greater than, the same as or less than what they found on the previous day? Explain answer

we know that

F = k x s

where s is the distance by which the spring is compressed

here,F = m x g,m is mass and g = 9.8 m/s^2

or k = (m x g/s)
