Question

I already got the answers but i want to double check to make sure they are accurate a) Suppose a marble pillar (density 2563 kg/m3) is in the shape of a cylinder 8.06 m high and radius 0.409 m. The mass of the pillar is ? kg ->for this part i got 10856.26 kg. is that correct? and to three significant figures would the answer be 10900? b) As the volume of the marble pillar increases, the density of the marble remains the same decreases increases ->For this part i said it decreases c) Suppose the marble in the pillar is replaced by a material of density 9310 kg/m3. If the new pillar has the same radius and and mass as the marble pillar, then the height of the new pillar is ?? m ->i got 2.22 m for this part if i got any wrong, could you correct it and explain why? thanks

Explanation / Answer

First two parts are indeed correct Mass = 10900 = 9310*pi*0.409*0.409*h => h = 7m
