Question
My introductory physics textbook contains some material on modern physics; a section on the uncertainty principle stated the relation that X*P greater than or equal to h/2 where X and P are the uncertainties. I also have a quantum mechanics textbook thst proves the relation as X*P greater than or equal to hbar/2. The quantum textbook proved that relation to me so i turn to question the introductory physics text book. Can the relation be stated that way and still be correct. that is a factor of 2pi off of the quantum textbook's relation and it bothers me very much. It would be wonderful if somebody could clear this up for me. Thank you in advance.
Explanation / Answer
No , it is h bar/2 only , other txt book would have been wrong
