Question

Write the Summative Chemical Equation for Photosynthesis below: Each Component (reactants and products) of the equation for photosynthesis comes from someplace!! For each component, specify (1) where that reactant or product came from (be specific as possible!! Ex- from a previous reaction/cycle, from a place within the plant) and (2) how it is used in the reaction (can mention Calvin Cycle, Light reactions, how it is used - any details) (3) what does it becomes, and (4) location this molecule travels. CoH1206 (Glucose): 02: CO2: H20: 2

Explanation / Answer

C6H12O6: in the photosynthesis reaction glucose is a product of reaction between 6CO2 and 6H2O molecules, with the help of light and it yields energy ATP. Photosynthesis reaction occurred on the surface of plant leaf, in chloroplast. Glucose form in this reaction used as a energy source for plant or stored as glycogen for further use.

O2: oxygen is a byproduct of photosynthesis reaction which is taken place in chloroplast. When 6CO2 and 6H2O molecules reacts in the presence of light, glucose is formed and 6 molecules of oxygen is released in atmosphere.

CO2: is a reactant of the photosynthesis reaction. With the help of CO2 and in the presence of light plant makes their glucose.

H2O: it also an reactant of photosynthesis reaction 6 molecules of water comes from atmospheric water , synthesized glucose. it cames from atmosphere or root to the cell where it reacts with light (chloroplast, light reaction) and CO2 and makes glucoes and energy (ATP) for plant.
