Receptor protein-tyrosine kinases are synthesized as single-pass transmembrane proteins and bind polypeptide ligands. They are activated by ligand-induced dimerization of the receptors that phosphorylated their intracellular substrates to change their shape and function of the target proteins. These proteins kinases consist of protein interaction domains that arrange the signal protein complexes on the inner surface of plasma membrane.
