Explanation / Answer

1.

The chemicals that interfere with the endocrine system at some specific dose are called as endocrine disruptors. The developmental disorders, cancerous tumors, and other birth defects can be caused by these endocrine disruptors.

There are different types of endocrine disruptors including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), Dixons, and polybrominated biphenyls. Bisphenol A, DDT, diethylstilbestrol, and vinclozolin are also the other example of endocrine disruptor.

Endocrine disruptors mimic the action of naturally occurring hormones in the body like androgen and estrogen. They bind to the receptor present in the cell and block the binding of endogenous hormone.
