ATP is the currency for energy. If there is a lot of ATP, some reactions will turn on while other reactions will turn off. An enzyme (unknown to you, but a real one) has the following kinetic behavior in the presence of ATP. Is the enzyme turned on or turned off by ATP? Explain.

It appears that the presence of ATP at a concentration of 3000 uM max, turns on the enzyme. As you can see in the graphs, the bigger the concentration of ATP, the bigger the amount of turnovers or activity of the enzyme. However, when the concentration of ATP is higher than 300 uM (5,000 and 10,000) the activity of the enzyme starts to go down, so the excess of ATP turns off the enzyme.
