Eliot Graham is a chemical engineer at Depot Chemical. Although Eliot does not work in the production factility himself, he supervises workers who are exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals daily, for their entire shift duration. Eliot becomes concerned when he learns that several employees have in the past year, developed respiratory problems. In addition, many new workers have high turnover rates, complaining about the smell of the fumes from the chemicals. Eliot asks his supervisor, Damien, about air quality, and is told that the facility fully complies with OSHA guidelines. Eliot is trained on OSHA codes and knows that the safety guidelines only apply to chemicals that have been tested. Very few of the chemicals produced by Depot Chemical have been tested to have appropriate, OSHA-approved protocol in place. Eliot is concerned about the vast majority of chemicals that his direct reports are exposed to, which have not been tested in order to have OSHA guidelines regarding exposure and safety. Should Don do anything further, or should he simply drop the matter?
