1.) When is it better to use an MSI device in the design of a digital system as opposed to logic gates? When are logic gates better?

2.) How do the inputs and outputs of decoders and multiplexers relate to minterms and/or maxterms of a function?

3.) What is the difference between Mealy and Moore forms of a sequential circuit?

4.) What are the advantages and disadvantages of a Mealy vs. a Moore design?

Explanation / Answer

1.) MSI contains 10 to 100 transistors in a single package. So MSI devices are more suitable when the circuit is complex.

Logic gates are use when the circuit is simple.
