a. Initial cost is less.Pneumatic equipments costs one - third less than the hydraulic systems.

b.A pneumatic system reduces the costs of installation and operations compared with conventional electrical installations.

c.For opening and closing of valves during underwater operations , pneumatic systems works better because they can sustain overload pressure conditions.

d.Pneumatic actuators have long life and their performance is well with negligible maintenance requirements throughout entire life.

e.These systems are easily designed and can be operated via simple on-off control.

f.They are safer machines as the chances of catching fire is very low.

Some major industrial applications are as air brakes on buses,trucks and trains ,cable jutting ,gas-operated reloding,holman projector ,HVAC control system ,pneumatic motor,vacuum pump,pressure regulators ,dental drills ,barostat systems used in neurogastroenterology etc.

Servomotors have a position encoder attached to the drive motor that reports the actual position of the motor shaft back to the motor controller therefore the servocontroller may take the corrective action whenever any positioning error occurs,servosystems always know exactly where the process is therefore all step command is executed and no pulse is lost,servosystems work with full torque at high speed,it has higher encoder resolution dueto which the work is inherently smooth ,it draws power only as required and the drawn power is proportional to the load torque applied to the system.
