Here If you mean power distribution companies than your power system and distribution books are more than enough resource for study, and on other hand if you want to know about factories and manicuring companies than its completely depends on which type of factory are you interested in. For big factories now a days they generate required power them self, some factories have substation to set voltage level according to requirement, but here there is no meaning to explain you that how they are actually distributing the multiple load, because it varies with factory to factory. In general, they all have two types of load which are 3 phase loads and single phase loads, three phase loads consist of high rating motors, boiler etc. single phase loads consist lightning loads and illumination load. For more details, you can refer drawing sheets of any construction company who is constructing any factory, basically they are the one who is doing all this process I need to know in general my final project for the power systems class involves distributing power through a salmon packing plant with 6 different types of load I am trying to determine what I will need transformer/substation wise to distribute the power.
