Question
I need the steps and the explanation please
Hannah's robot is powered by a 7.2V battery with a capacity of 5400mAH. While moving forward, the robot's motors consume 200mA. The forward speed of the robot is 1.5ft/sec. The robot's batteries are charged by a solar charger that charges the batteries at a rate of 0.1C/sec. The robot's batteries were dead but the charger was attached and put in the sun. If the robot could travel 3000ft after charging, how long in hours was the robot left in the sun to charge? Assume the motors run until the last coulomb of charge has been consumed.Explanation / Answer
Speed = 1.5 ft/sec
distance = 3000ft
Total time = 3000/1.5 = 2000sec
current consumed by robot = 200mA
Average charge consumed by robot in 2000sec = 2000*200*10^(-3)
Q = 400 C
charging rate = 0.1 C/sec
Total time taken to charge the battery till 400 C = 400/0.1 = 4000sec
Time in hr = 4000/(60*60) = 1.111hr
So robot was left in sunlight for 1.11 hrs
