Use the relationships for temperature conversions to DERIVE (FIND OR ARRIVE) that (or at that) particular temperature. This problem does not ask you to substitute the temperature hat you may already know (perhaps from the chemistry), into the formulas; however, to use the relationships for temperature conversion to arrive at answer for that temperature as your final answer by using algebraic manipulations of the relationships for temperature conversion. No credit will be given to answers that merely just substitute the temperature that you already know into the equation or use trial and error to arrive at the indicated temperature. Explanation / Answer

We know the relationship between degree celcius and farenheit.

F= 9C/5 + 32

We need to get x0 C= x0 F

So we put C=F in the formula.

Now,

F =9F/5 +32

F-32 = 9F/5

5 (F -32)= 9F

5F -160 =9F

-160 = 4F

F= -40

Therefore -40 is the value where degree celcius and farenheit get equal.
