NEED TO INSTALL JAVA FOR THIS QUESTION

to help me with this qeustion you will need java installed

Click on the following image to start running "The Moving Man". This will download and run the Java applet. Be sure and click on "OK" if asked for permission to run it.

Click on the following image to start running "The Moving Man." This will open in a new window. You will need to have JAVA installed on your computer for this to work.

If you are having trouble, after installing JAVA, try copying and pasting the following link into a new window:

Q9. First we are going to compare constant velocity to constant acceleration. Do a simulation where the man moves with a velocity of 2 m/s. Next, run a simulation where the man moves with a constant acceleration of 2 m/s2. Describe any differences in the position vs. time plots for these two simulations. Explain the reason for these differences. Describe any differences in the velocity vs. time plots for these two simulations. Explain the reason for these differences.

Q10. First we are going to compare positive to negative velocity. Do a simulation where the man moves with a velocity of 2 m/s. Next, run a simulation where the man moves with a velocity of -2 m/s. What is the man's speed in each of these simulations? How does this difference change the direction the man walks? Describe any differences in the position vs. time plots for these two simulations. Explain the reason for these differences. Describe any differences in the velocity vs. time plots for these two simulations. Explain the reason for these differences.

Explanation / Answer

9] position time graph of constant velocity case is straight line with constant slope whereas position time graph of constant acceleration is parabolic curve with increasing slope.

It is because in constant acceleration case the velocity is increasing, so slope is continuously increasing and position is increasing rapidly while in other case velocity is same, so slope of the graph is constant.

Velocity time graph of constant velocity case is straight line with zero slope whereas position time graph of constant acceleration case is straight line with constant slope.

It is because in constant acceleration case the velocity is increasing linearly, so slope which is acceleration is constant while in constant velocity case acceleration is zero so slope is zero
