Tho ugh there are no mutations in the harmonin gene , mutation in miRNA produces several harmonin isoforms some containing coiled domains . Because of several isoforms of harmonin, patient lane showed more protein.

B. Micro miRNA regulate post transcriptional modification by binding to 3' end of untranslated region of the complementary mRNA sequence.

Thus inturn repress the translation and bring about gene silencing

miRNA thus helps in RNA silencing and post trascriptional regulation of gene expression.

Changes in miRNA and its target site can deregulate gene expression.

It leads to various pathological conditions.
