4. At the other side of the visible universe (1010 light years away) we will imagine there is a planet just like ours with a civilization identical to ours. An othersider fellow at rest in that place considers "present time on earth is Spring 2017. Next to him are two bikers: biker A is moving away from earth at 3 m/s and biker B is moving toward earth at 3 m/s. For all of them, their time is Spring 2017. However, when they consider what time it is for us, earthers, they get different conclusions (a) What is the "present time for earthers' according to biker A? (b) What is the "present time for earthers' according to biker B?Explanation / Answer
Ans: we know that the average distance from the earth to the sun is 9,2 x 107 miles, so we calculated its average of 93 miles. we know in a vacuum the light travels 1.86 x 105 miles/second. So we calculated that earth's orbit in the Sun a light time distance = 3,137 sec. so as per unit of astronomical distance is equal to the distance travels in one light year
light year = speed of light x one year (Speed of light = c , distance of light = d , time = t)
as per equation d = c x t
Speed of light = 1 year x 365 days/year x 24 hour/days x 60 minutes/hour x 60 seconds/minute
= 3.15 x 107 sec
Now we are calculating the variables for speed of light and time in vacuum. c with 1.86 x 105 miles/sec and time with 3.15 x 107 sec
d = c x t
d = (1.86 x 105) x (3.154 x 107 seconds)
d = 5.8 x 1012 miles
& in terms of kilometer d = c x t = (3.00 X 105 ) X (3.154 X 107sec) = 9.46 X 1012 km
Now we prove that one light year = 9.46 x 1012 km
as per give condition plant id 1010 light years away. and the present time on earth is spring 2017.
(a). according to the biker A is speed moving away from the earth 3 m/s so we convert in kilometer 0.003 km /s
so as per one light year = 9.46 x 1012 km & speed of light = 3.15 x 107 sec
= 0.003 X 3.15 X 107 = 0.094 X107 km move away from the earth. so we given 1010 light year
= 0.094 x107 * 1010 = 0.094 X 1017 so it’s mean the present time of earth as per biker A Spring 2022.
(b) similar like that according to the biker B is speed moving toward from the earth 3 m/s so we convert in kilometer 0.003 km /s
so as per one light year = 9.46 x 1012 km & speed of light = 3.15 x 107 sec
= 0.003 X 3.15 X 107 = 0.094 X107 km move away from the earth. so we given condition 1010 light year
= 0.094 x107 * 1010 = 0.094 X 1017 so it’s mean the present time of earth as per biker B Spring 2012
Now we prove that A & B biker present time for earth according to away & toward of spring 2022 & 2021.
