Explanation / Answer

1) Plants are made up of Eukaryotic cells. The cellls are sorrounded by a thick cell wall that is made up of cellulose, which is absent in animal cells. The plant cells pocess large vacoules and also contain plastids like chloroplast.

They belong to the Kingdom 'plantae' according to the 5 kingdom classification. The 5 kingoms are,

Kingdom Monera, Kingdom Protista, Kingdom Fungi, Kingdom Plantae and Kingdom Animalia.

2) Plants are Autotrophs. That is, they are able to produce their own food by using the energy from sunlight. Plants are the primary producers. They are the only living things that can fix energy from sunlight and the entire living world depends upon plants to obtain energy either directly or indirectly ( Directly by herbivores and indirectly by carnivores).

( Heterotrophs are organisms that cannot synthesize their own food).

3) The above ground parts of plants include Leafs, Stem and Flowers. And their functions include,

Leafs - They produce food for the entire plant by a process called Photosynthesis.

Stem- They provide support for the leafs and flowers. They also carries minerals and water from root to leafs inorder to carry out photosynthesis.

Flowers - They are the plant part that are responsible for reproduction by producing seeds and fruits.

4) The main below ground portion of a plant includes Roots. Their functions include,

Some plants also has underground stem called as Stolons. They help in storing food. Example include, Potato which is an underground stem.
